The Hintertux Glacier is a three-minute bus ride from the hotel. Plus, Eggalm and Rastkogel are right in the valley, offering a total of 206 kilometers of slopes with a single ski pass.

Skiing on the glacier runs from late September into the summer; the glacier closes for a break in the height of summer. Eggalm and Rastkogel are open from early December through mid-April.
Hintertux Glacier
Snow down to 3,250 meters
The glacier bus takes you from the valley station up to an elevation of 3,250 meters. The ski area is open from late September through the summer; in midsummer, the glacier takes a break. Up to 64 kilometers of slopes and 20 lifts cater to all skill levels.
Even if you don't ski, it's worth the trip: The Natur Eis Palast is located in a glacier crevasse, and from the Frozen Wall, the view stretches far across the Zillertal Alps.

The two local mountains in the Tux Valley
The Eggalmbahn starts in Lanersbach, a seven-minute bus ride from the house. Wide, sunny slopes and rarely crowded—ideal for relaxing days and for anyone who’s still learning.
From the Rastkogelbahn in Vorderlanersbach, eight lifts take you across toward Penken and Mayrhofen. If you want to rack up the kilometers, this is the place for you.
Ski Passes and Fun Parks
One pass for the entire region
The Zillertal Super Ski Pass is valid in all Zillertal ski areas. Within the Zillertal 3000 Ski and Glacier World, a single ticket takes you from the glacier all the way to Mayrhofen. We’ll issue your ski pass at the front desk, so you don’t have to go to the ticket office in the morning.
Freestylers will find three parks: the Betterpark and the Family Park on the Hintertux Glacier, as well as the Penken Park in Mayrhofen.
Youth are those born between 2008 and 2011; children are those born between 2012 and 2020. Children born in 2021 or later ski for free when accompanied by a paying adult. Seniors are charged the adult rate. For passes valid for two days or more, the pass automatically becomes the Zillertal Superskipass and is valid in all Zillertal ski areas. On six Wednesdays this spring, the first gondola departs as early as 7:30 a.m.: on March 17 and 31, and on April 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2027. 37 euros per adult, 19 euros per child ages 5 to 10, including a coffee break and a glacier breakfast at the Wirtshaus am Tuxer Ferner. The ski pass is not included; the number of participants is limited; registration is through the Zillertaler Gletscherbahn.

For those who are still learning or want to delve deeper
Three ski schools in Tux accept both beginners and advanced skiers. Some offer online booking, which saves up to 15 percent. For freeriding, ski touring, and ice climbing, ROCKnSNOW is the right place to go. It’s not a ski school, but an alpine guiding service.

Ski Storage, Rentals, and Service
Skis and boots can be stored overnight in the ski room in the hotel. Our partner, Sport Nenner, handles ski rentals and offers a 10 percent discount; you’ll find ski schools in town. And if your edges or base need sharpening, our partner, Bernhard Sportmode, will pick up your skis right at the hotel.
The ski room is located below the Green Living Apartments and is connected via a tunnel to the main building and the suites with private spas. This means you can reach your equipment while staying warm.
